WOC 2008 CZE - 1st official training camp- Zlate Hory

From 8.-13.Okt. the first official training camp for the World Champs 2008 took place. Unfortunatly Austria´s national team didnt go so I organised it to go with a little mixed group (Sandra Z. from USA, Sandy Hot CAN & Axel Hot NOR). The trainings where organised professionally espacially those we could do together with the swiss team. In this place thanks to the swiss for this, to the italians who took us often in there bus and to the irish who joined us for dinner.

My Program:
Tue am: Short training map Cerna Voda to get to know the terrain
pm: Middle distance Course Vidnava
Wed:am: Long distance training with the swiss in Baduruv prusmyk 2,5h south of Z.H.
Thu:am: Partner Training with routetesting in zarovy vrch with course of former HE course
pm: Middle distance course in Zarovy vrch
Fri:am: Forest and park-sprint relay with the swiss team
pm: jacuzzi
Sat:am: Try to run the WRE

Most of the trainings where supposed to be in similiar terrain as the Middle Distance of next years WOC exept the training on wednesday with the swiss which was far more south and should be similiar to the long distance terrain.
The terrain seemed partly steep and more or less stony with many paths, good runnabiliy but also some parts of thicker vegetation. The terrain of the Middle distance seems to be more stony than the terrain of the long distance which remembers me of nice parts in "Wienerwald" or hungarian terrain near Miscolc. Anyway the organiser of the WRE Events on the weekend said that even the terrain for middle distance wont be as stony as the terrain for the WRES on the weekend.
